The Tecate Hare Scrambles Returns

On Saturday, December 5 2009, the Los Ancianos MC will present one of the premier off road races held on the West Coast. What makes our event so special? Why have some of the best racers in the country such as Larry Roeseler, Ty Davis, Destry Abbott, Mike Lafferty, Kelly Yancey, Johnny Campbell, Steve Hatch, Paul Krause, Nathan Kanney, Joey Lanza and Kurt Caselli traveled to Mexico? We think it’s because we provide a technical, challenging course consisting of fresh-cut trails, sand washes and high-speed dirt roads in a unique back-country setting. In what other sport can any rider pay a few bucks and compete with the world’s best athletes in the discipline? Come enjoy the fun atmosphere and riding pleasure that a weekend in Mexico can provide.

The Los Ancianos MC has been around for almost 50 years now and has a reputation for designing a well-marked “fresh” course that challenges all riders. This tradition will be carried on this coming December in the hills east of Tecate, Mexico.

A two-hour race over a course of approximately 10-12 miles has been designed for the International Sportsmen and Women classes. This race will take place in the morning starting at 9:00am. Another two-hour race over an expanded course, approximately 12-14 miles in length, will be held at 1:00pm to challenge the Professional and A/B riders’ skills and fitness. Our Classic trophies are the reward for the best riders in each class. In addition, the winner of the KTM International Pro Challenge will win a minimum cash prize of $1,000.

Check back regularly for more information, updates and detailed directions to the event.
