2007 Race  - the results are in!

The 2007 edition of the Los Ancianos MC Tecate Hare Scrambles is over and you’d have to say extreme weather was the major player this year.  With rain and cold weather beginning on Friday, keeping warm and maintaining good vision became a top priority.  Despite the brutal conditions, the riders still had a great race on a twelve mile race course with perfect traction (well, there were a few mud holes!).  Ty Davis, on his new Suzuki ride, got the hole shot and literally blazed away from a large Pro Class field.  Ty thus claimed the biggest portion of the KTM Pro Challenge cash payout.  Morning race results are posted and afternoon race results will be up soon. 

A special thanks to the members of the Los Ancianos MC and friends for putting on this race.  It takes an unbelievable amount of time and effort to make this event happen.  An example of this effort is that on Thursday we had the entire course and pit area marked, ready to go.  However, on Friday when the weather came in we lost about 70% of our markings. So, Saturday morning, before the race started, we had to virtually remark the entire course one more time.  Feel free to say thanks to the club members and helpers for their effort and commitment to making our Tecate Hare Scrambles the quality event it is.

 Our club truly appreciates your participation in our event.  We know you prepare for this event many months in advance, spend a lot of time and money, and travel great distances to get down to the race.  Thank you.

 We held this year’s race on a private ranch with special permission for this weekend only.  Please do not trespass on their property.  Perhaps we’ll be able to use this property sometime in the future for another club event if we respect their right to privacy.

 Trophy winners will have their actual photo on the trophy this year.  Go to www.mybajaphoto.com for more individual photos from this year’s race.  We will try to mail the trophies to the recipients but they can also be picked up at MotoWorld in El Cajon.
